International ecumenical community in the south of Burgundy, France. Founded by Brother Roger (born 1915-05-12 in Provence, VD, Switzerland as Roger Louis Schutz-Marsauche).

Brother Roger deceased 2005-08-16 in Taizé after being stabbed during evening prayer.

In that same month, Brother Alois (born 1954-06-11 in Nördlingen, BY, Germany as Alois Löser) succeeded him as prior of the community.
