Bouncing out of the farthest reaches of South-West London come Gold Teeth. A four piece
electro-rock band. They formed in February 2008 out of the ashes of various local groups and very
swiftly found that they were a perfect soundclash.
Vocalist Joe da Costa is a front man as pushy as they come, bedroom techhead keyboardist
Johny Tams is a producer/programmer boffin in the making, nascent guitar God Nick Rowson,
bass provider George Longworth and 19 year old boy-wonder sticksman Will Ritson all
disagree about more music than they agree on but when the four of them are in the room together,
they are a threat to the secure placement of the ceiling.
Gold Teeth make music to dance to but with paranoid edges formed from hallucinogenic suburban
nights and motivated by the classic pop band motivator - a desire to explode day-to-day
A pop band then, but the kind where you can dig around to find calypso, ska, progressive rock,
indie, afro-beat and hip hop.
They like balloons. They like Paul Simon. They like Jay-Z. They like Blur. They like festivals.
They like kingsize Rizla and they like selling out venues in London and attracting the attention of
beady eyed A&Rs before they've released anything. Which they have done.
Their current anthem 'Everybody' is lining up as an airwaves conquering accidental soundtrack to
beery nightclub activity from Ibiza to Ilford. With their embrace of fun underpinned by a tripped out
muso-seriousness they could very well be one of those next Global British Soundclash Pop
They came from the suburbs.....
