Jimmy Jones (writer of “Good Timin’” and “Handy Man”)

Born in Alabama, Mr Jones made significant contributions to the doo-wop genre (whatever that means), being a master at falsetto.
Now, he also is the man of exactly two songs (Good Timin' and Handy Man).
You may encounter Mr Jones, for either one or the other of these two songs, on a consequent number of Various Artists compilations with fascinating names, like Number 1 Hits, The Ultimate Whatever (Whatever may be Jukebox, or Love Collection...), Best of Rock 'n' Roll...
When any of these compilations can afford to be 2 cd set, they often feature both titles, one on each disc!
Signs of the time, new names came in, a bit less emphatic, like Oldies but Goodies and Remember the 60's.
That unfortunate trend even reached new heights, with the highly disrespectfull Grandma's Rock & Roll Party!

All that said, it then might be quite a shock to learn that Mr Jones actually recorded more than two songs... as one can find out in his 2002 Good Timin': The Anthology. Even more shocking, the release label (Castle) actually managed to find enough material to fill up two entire discs! Although the very name they picked for this anthology prooves that some things never change...

And as a conclusion: hip-hop fans, show some respect to history, please stop adding these feats from your Cam'ron stuff to this artist, as you actually are looking for Jim Jones!
