Godflesh
~ Group
Annotation
Godflesh is one of the inventors in the metal / industrial genre. Like a bridge between metal music and machinebased music. Experimental is a good keyword. Justin Broadrick's (ex-Napalm Death) guitarplaying is unique, totally untypical for "metal" band. The bassguitar sound is through the whole Godflesh's career very crushing & powerful, you'll be hard pressed to find more crushing bassplaying - and naturally it was an important part of the band's rhytm section. Godflesh was also one of the first metal bands to use drum machine(s) and not trying to hide the fact. On most of their albums the drums are artificial. Godflesh disbanded in 2002, but Justin Broadrick is already back with new band / project: Jesu.
