Biography

Tenor saxophonist who toured with Dizzy Gillespie (1946) and Don Redman (1946), then Andy Kirk (1948-1949) and Hot Lips Page, Ray Abrams started in Brooklyn combos.

He eventually led his own Big Band (1947), and was spotted with Roy Eldridge, Bill Harris and Slim Gaillard, before slowly fading out into rhythm and blues formations.
