themillionstars are Rose and Malcolm Moore:
a band making music for people who love music.

Music full of dreams and shadows and kisses that linger…

Rose is the singer, songwriter, arranger and multi-instrumentalist. A child prodigy and talented visual artist, she was playing and composing for symphony orchestras from the age of 11. She spent the years before themillionstars sculpting her own ideas while making editorial sense of the cerebral outpourings of the most respected classical composers of our age, Peter Maxwell Davies and Gavin Bryars, in between gigs with Pulp and Tindersticks.

…Music to fall in love to…

Malcolm is the other singer, songwriter, arranger and multi-instrumentalist. He was in the same orchestra as Rose when they were 14 years old. Until themillionstars, he was taking the old-fashioned route clutching his BSc in Music, learning his trade and keeping his mouth shut in a thousand bands and orchestras, some very successful, others quite good, but none as good as music deserves.

…Music to fall out of love to…

After too long making a living, they both decided it was time to make the music they wanted to hear, so they turned to the only people they could trust; each other.

…Music out of the soul and the spinning head…

In the Dylan Thomas short story ‘The Mouse and the Woman’, a madman makes sense of the world when he sees a million stars in the sky, spelling out one word. That’s what Rose and Malcolm are doing; themillionstars are trying to make sense of their world.

…Music to fall in love with.
