The Animals ('60s "British invasion" group)

There have been a number of lineups of this group, as well as various "splinter" versions where one or two of the original members made a comeback for a few years in the '90s. See http://www.ericburdonalbums.com/band name The Animals.htm for an excellent summary of the different variants.

Disbanded somewhere between february and october 1966. New band with some member overlap was started in october 1966: Eric Burdon and the Animals. Original line-up of Burdon, Price, Valentine, Chandler, and Steel briefly reunited for an album in 1977 and again for an album and tour in 1983.
