Mike Scott (Phinius Gage)
Mike Scott was bassist for well known underground melodic punk/hardcore band Phinius Gage from 2003-2007. He turned to acoustic music in 2007 when the band went on hiatus, through a desire to carry on making music. Since late 2007 when Mike played his first solo shows, he has toured in the UK and Europe with Mike Park, Kevin Seconds, Kepi Ghoulie, Itch Fox from The King Blues, Bomb The Music Industry, Sundowner, Sam Russo and Kelly Kemp, among others.
His first EP, ‘Massacre Songs’, sold it’s 1000 press run to mostly Phinius Gage fans curious to hear the direction Mike went in. Since then, he has championed free download releases, offering ‘Massacre Songs’ and his new EP, ‘…And A Master Of None’, to anyone who wants them for nothing, or for a donation.
Mike has also done several split EPs - a 7” on Fond of Life Records with Kevin Seconds (7Seconds), a split CD with Ben Childs (ex- Sonic Boom 6) and another with Flav Giorgini (Squirtgun). He has another split EP coming out with Luke Pabich (ex-Good Riddance) in December 2010, on Fond of Life.
Mike is now a regular writer for Punktastic.com, an outspoken vegan and part-time singer for punk band Company L. 2011 will see him tour extensively as a solo artist and with the new reformed Phinius Gage.
