Before turning to music full time Nicholas Varley worked had for BBC Radio 2 in London, France Television in Paris, and Downtown Studios in Johannesburg. While in South Africa he started writing and arranging strings for commercials, such as "Amstel Lager" or "Sud Afrika Telkom". Upon returning to France in 1995 he scored several video games such as Syberia (2002), short films, and more commercials (Rolex, Armani, L'Oreal...), until 2002 when he scored his first animated series, the BAFTA nominated Watch My Chops (2003) for Millimages. Since then he's worked predominantly in animation, having scored more than 30 series, and several feature length movies for Disney, Bac Films and Splash Entertainment. In 2020 he's slated to start scoring season five of the EMMY nominated Molang (2015). He speaks fluent English, French and Italian, and lives near Fontainebleau in France, with his wife and business partner Sybille, and his two children.
