Annotation
Spoken word artist best known for "Your Revolution," a "remix" (her words) of Gil Scott-Heron's classic rap "The Revolution Will Not Be Televised."
In 2001, the FCC issued an "indecency" fine against Portland, OR radio station KBOO-FM for playing "Your Revolution." The FCC claimed that the song contained "unmistakable patently offensive sexual references." Ironically most of the references were merely quotations from popular rap songs.
The FCC recinded its fine in 2003.
