In addition to being jazz pianist and composer/lyricist, Irving Mills is most famous for being Duke Ellington's manager from 1926-39. Mills also promoted/represented Cab Calloway, Benny Carter, Fletcher Henderson, and Jimmie Lunceford. Mill also founded the music publishing company Mills Music, Inc., with his brother Jack.

Irving Mills (born Isadore Minsky; January 16, 1894 – April 21, 1985) was a jazz music publisher and musician, also known by the name of "Joe Primrose." Mills died in 1985 in Palm Springs, California and is interred at Mount Sinai Memorial Park Cemetery.
