Felly (Felly Kilingi, “frontwoman” for Technotronic in the early ’90s)

Felly was a model and dancer, credited as the vocal performer for Technotronic's "Pump Up the Jam" and also featured in the music video. The real vocalist is actually Ya Kid K, who was still a teenager in school at the time of Pump Up the Jam's commercial success, and was therefore unable to perform at Technotronic's live shows.

It was around this time that the lip-syching scandals with Milli Vanilli and Black Box occurred, so for Technotronic's next video "Get Up (Before The Night Is Over)" Ya Kid K is featured on vocals with Felly doing background dancing, despite the vocals sounding exactly the same as the vocals on Pump Up the Jam.
