Stephen EvEns (Slowly, slowly, badly tempered former indie loser all on his own)

Annotation

Stephen Evens is a songwriter who has a lot of bitterness and resentment and is channeling it into writing songs to avoid its manifestion into a cancer or abnormal growth.

He has spent most of his days touring here and there with minor indie celebrity. He has for now shunned the tourbus lifestyle for a wander through his own songbook for a change. Armed with a battered guitar, a casiotone and a few pedals Stephen presents songs that mix the likes of Yo La Tengo & Ivor Cutler with broken friendships and human error.
The songs are beautiful and the words are horrible. I don't know why you don't think that's a good thing.

It's all our fault.

Latest News: Stephen EvEns imbarks on a pilgrimage to Brooklyn borough of New York this October. During this time he will undertake a few low key shows and to make some music in the basement of soundtrack composer, and half of porch techno duo The Quavers, Todd Griffin. Along for the ride will be former Wedding Present & Beachbuggy alumni, Darren Belk who will be providing all sorts of guitars, baritones & moral support.
